OK so my learn is officially on – just been on to Amazon and picked up:

The Future of Music: Manifesto for the Digital Music Revolution – Dave Kusek

Truth, Lies and Advertising : The Art of Account Planning – Jon Steel

Eating the Big Fish: How Challenger Brands Can Compete Against Brand Leaders – Adam Morgan

Very excited about the Future of Music book – at the Napster xmas party I met a guy who loaded me up with a million book titles that I need to read but one was this. Turns out this guy Gerd Leonhard is a music futurist and he and his mate have a theory that music should be paid for in the same way that people pay for water or electricity – you can read the original article here. Super interesting stuff and if their calculations are correct something like this could inject some much needed scratch into the music business.

    Your learn is most definitely on Grumblemouse! You asked a couple of posts ago about suggested reading and a book I read mid 90’s amongst all the first tinternet hoopla was “Understanding Media” by Marshall McLuhan. A weighty slab if ever there was one but it is right on the money when it comes to analysing and then extrapolating the ways people communicate. Its got a dry sense of humour too and will give you the nerd chops if you drop a ref amongst company (if that is what you want of course :).
